About Me
Hi! I’m Brett. I like to be creative in everything I do.
My life has been spent seeking new skills, new adventures, new places, and new experiences.
In 1989 I found a love for photography.
My photographic career began in 1990 photographing skiers and snowboarders on Mt Ruapehu. I photographed on and off professionally until 2001.
Much of my time as a photographer was spent living on the breadline ( Photography was never cheap - especially during the film era ). I always needed a second job. There was always construction, but mostly I chose kitchen work. I’ve worked from kitchen hand to head chef, from burgers to five star dining and everything in between.
From 1999 I began peddling my artistic telents. This was fun for a while but never really seemed right, until, almost by accident, I found something that grabbed me from the first day - Stonemasonry. This was a job where I could use my artistic talents AND make some money at last! I had found my second love.
For the next two decades I bounced around the country working primarily in masonry, but branching into various different trades as well: Tiling, painting, roofing, earthquake repairs / consulting, digger operation and paving to name a few.
After 25 years in the construction industry (23 years as a stonemason), my current job has me travelling countrywide as a foundation specialist.
Of course, my camera and sketchpad are always with me.
I have a wide range of services available.
Please enjoy browsing my work.
Let me know if there is something special I can do for you.
Cheers, Brett.
