AUCKLAND SKYLINE - PINK SKYTOWER TO COMMEMORATE THE FIRST MATARIKI HOLIDAY

Coming back from Whangarei I was greeted with this fantastic sight. It was a perfect night, as if nature had turned it on for the first ever Matariki Holiday.

Now stopping on the motorway is a real no-no! As it happened, my truck just happened to develope a spontaneous alarming noise that forced me to pull over into a service area next to the motorway. Coincidentally, I ended up in the perfect spot to take this photo as I waited for my truck to cool down.

To celebrate, the skytower was lit up pink to add to this already spectacular reflection.

You can see how still the night was. In a 25 second exposure, there is almost no motion blur in the anchored boats.

Every lens manufacturer produces “Flagship” lenses throughout the focal ranges.

For a zoom lens the clarity is remarkable. You can almost pick out individual people.
